If you listen to the short-wave radio and you have difficulty with "time" like I do, then these charts will come in handy.

"GMT" (Greenwich Mean Time) is "basically" the same as UTC (Universal Coordinated Time) or "World Time".  "EST" is, "Eastern Standard Time".  This is the "Standard Time" (Winter time) for Eastern North America.  "BST" is, "British Summer Time".  It is one hour ahead of "GMT".  "EDT" is, "Eastern Daylight Time".  This is the time in Summer for Eastern North America.

If there are any corrections that need to be made to these charts, please let me know.  As far as I know they are accurate.  If they don't make any sense to you, I am sorry.  I did these so I could understand the time differences easily.

I had a chart comparing GMT (UTC) and Eastern Time already.  I want to listen to a program on BBC Radio 4 via the Internet.  Well, right now the British are on "Summer Time". The schedule for the program was listed in BST and not GMT.  I know GMT but I wasn't familiar with BST really. So, I wanted a chart comparing GMT and BST.  I did up one of those for my big radio notebook.  That was ok.  I got the idea of modifying that chart and adding Eastern Time to it, so I could have a "one size fits all" chart in my small radio notebook.  (The small book is more "portable".)  (Time Chart)

For the longest time, I couldn't always remember when the day changed.  I mean, I was forever tuning in to the BBC World Service expecting to hear Alistair Cooke's, "Letter From America", only to find that I had missed it because it came on at that hour but only on the day before.  There are a few hours when the North American day is not the same one as the day it is via GMT.  For example, in the winter time, when it is 8:00PM on a Saturday, here in Eastern North America; it is 01:00 hours on a Sunday, GMT (UTC).  I was tired of getting confused when I tried to figure out what day it was GMT wise.  I did up a detailed chart so I could figure it out easily.  Today, I went and made up the simpler one for my small notebook.  You see that one below the first chart. (It is called, Time Chart Days)
